Thermocouple Compensating extension cables are used in temperature measurement connecting the thermocouple to the measuring instrument. Thermocouple extension cables uses the same alloy of the thermocouple while the compensating cable uses different alloy to provide positive & negative cores to match the components of those in the thermocouple elements, which have a matched thermal e.m.f output over the appropriate temperature range.
Used for interconnecting the thermocouple to the measuring instruments.
